Overview

Pivots (ball studs and ball pins) provide the spherical mounting point for gas springs, dampers, and linkage joints. They are common in automotive bonnet and boot struts, furniture gas-lift fittings, and machine covers. UVI manufactures ball studs with hex or square collars and threaded shanks matched to the mating socket.

Questions

How do I pick the ball size?

Match it to the ball socket on your gas spring or linkage end. 10 mm and 13 mm are the most common for gas springs.

Can the ball be polished or hardened?

Ball finish and hardness affect wear and noise. Say what you need, or send a sample of the part you use now.

Can the shank be a different thread?

Yes. Shank thread, length and collar shape can follow your drawing.
